Jimena Caballero

Costa Rica–based psychologist & communicator

Conversations that help us understand our lives.

I am a psychologist and communicator based in Costa Rica. For more than a decade, I have worked in private psychological practice and provided consulting for Netflix series and media organizations.

My purpose is to open conversations about mental health that help us understand ourselves, care for our relationships, and live with greater awareness.

I lead Sanamente Costa Rica, a psychology-informed travel experience that brings together reflection, rainforest, and ocean. It is an invitation to pause, reconnect with yourself, and give meaning to what comes next.

MY STORY

My work begins with listening.

I want to hear your story and help you tell it in a way that honors your pain, your strength, and your capacity for change.

Sometimes we live between who we learned to be and what we have not yet allowed ourselves to want. Therapy can invite us out of that inner cave: to put pain into words, understand recurring patterns, and distinguish our own desires from other people’s expectations.

I offer a space where your contradictions can be heard, too. A place to work through what you have lived and explore other ways of being, choosing, and loving—so you can take a more active role in your story and write its next chapters with greater freedom.

MEDIA & ORGANIZATIONS

Let’s shape a conversation that matters.

I hold a Licenciatura degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Production. My education also includes postgraduate studies in Business Administration, with an emphasis on executive management and projects, and in Communication for Healthcare Organizations.

I bring together the listening skills of psychology, a communicator’s sensitivity to stories, and a strategic approach to projects—creating work that connects with people and the realities of their lives.

I work with media outlets, teams, and organizations to bring mental health into their audiences’ lives and workplaces with care, clarity, and depth. My work includes consulting, training, workshops, and audiovisual projects that help people understand their experiences and care for their relationships.

As a consultant, I have supported government institutions, international organizations, private companies, multinational businesses, and media outlets in addressing mental health. My mission is to open conversations that encourage self-awareness, empathy, reflection, and care for one another.

I am Costa Rican, Mexican, and Spanish. This multicultural identity shapes my work and my connection with Latino and Spanish-speaking communities in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Costa Rica, including audiences in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami.
